PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) is diverting northbound traffic on the North-South Expressway between Bukit Gambir and Tangkak, covering the stretch from KM165.35 to KM166.60.
What is changing
PLUS's official notice confirms the northbound diversion started on 17 September 2026 and will continue until 31 December 2026, to allow road maintenance works at KM166.2 northbound as part of PLUS's ongoing highway infrastructure improvement programme.
Why this corridor matters for road freight
The Bukit Gambir–Tangkak stretch sits on a key section of the North-South Expressway used by commercial vehicles travelling from Johor towards Melaka, the Klang Valley and northern Peninsular Malaysia.
What PLUS advises
PLUS asks highway users to follow all posted traffic signs and instructions from PLUS personnel, and to plan journeys ahead using the PLUS app, the PUTRI virtual assistant, PLUS's social media channels including X @plustrafik, and electronic message signs (VMS) at selected locations. For emergencies, road users can call PLUSLine at 1-800-88-0000.
What West Malaysian hauliers should check
For Johor-to-KL/Selangor freight movements, allow extra schedule buffer when approaching the Bukit Gambir–Tangkak section, particularly where delivery appointments or onward collections have tight time windows. PLUS has not stated an expected delay duration.
