Published 24 September 2026

MOF has set Malaysia’s unsubsidised diesel price at RM5.42 per litre for 24–30 September 2026, up 15 sen from RM5.27. Unsubsidised RON95 rises 20 sen to RM4.57/L and RON97 rises 20 sen to RM5.05/L. Eligible users under the Sistem Kawalan Diesel Bersubsidi (SKDS) continue to pay RM2.15/L.
Which diesel price applies to road freight?
The RM5.42/L figure is the unsubsidised retail rate, not a universal commercial-fleet price. A transporter’s applicable rate depends on SKDS eligibility and other programme conditions. Do not apply the headline increase automatically to every lorry or quote.
What to check before confirming a quote
For short-term West Malaysian road-freight quotations, confirm your fleet’s actual fuel rate, then review the fuel basis, any surcharge and return-trip costing. This is a costing check, not a forecast of freight rates or a promise of savings. Make available return-leg capacity visible on Backhaul Connect.
