This week’s diesel prices

Kementerian Kewangan confirms that unsubsidised diesel remains RM5.27 per litre for 8–14 October 2026. SKDS diesel remains RM2.15 per litre for eligible users. These are different pricing arrangements: not every lorry operator qualifies for the SKDS rate.

Other fuel prices

The announcement also retains BUDI Diesel at RM2.10 per litre. BUDI Diesel and SKDS are distinct arrangements with their own eligibility requirements. Unsubsidised RON95 rises 15 sen to RM4.67 per litre, while RON97 rises 15 sen to RM5.15 per litre.

Why market pressure persists

Kementerian Kewangan points to constraints in global refined-product supplies, including China’s suspension of most fuel exports during October. It also identifies geopolitical risks to petroleum supply and prices. The announcement states that Malaysia’s fuel supplies remain sufficient.

What West Malaysia hauliers should check

Monitor weekly fuel announcements, review actual fleet fuel consumption and verify applicable subsidy eligibility. Use the fuel price your operation actually pays when preparing transport quotations. These are practical considerations, not evidence of a change in freight rates or a guaranteed cost saving.

Unchanged diesel is not unchanged total cost

This week’s pump-price stability provides one reference point for road-haulage calculations. It does not establish that all operating costs are unchanged and does not guarantee future diesel prices. Keep other operating-cost assumptions current when confirming a quotation.
