Malaysia's unsubsidised diesel price falls 5 sen for 3–9 September 2026

Malaysia's Ministry of Finance (MOF) has cut the unsubsidised diesel price by 5 sen per litre for 3–9 September 2026.

What changed

Unsubsidised diesel falls to RM4.67/L, down from RM4.72/L in the prior week. Subsidised BUDI Diesel (RM2.10/L) and subsidised SKDS Diesel (RM2.15/L) are unchanged. RON95 and RON97 are not mentioned in MOF's determination and are unaffected by this update.

Why it moved

MOF attributes the reduction to lower crude-oil prices during most of the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM) calculation period. The ministry also flags continued volatility risk from geopolitical tension and tight refined-product supply, meaning next week's price is not guaranteed to hold.

What to check before confirming rates

If you run unsubsidised diesel on West Malaysian corridors, the 5 sen/L cut works out to roughly RM50 less per 1,000 litres, RM250 less per 5,000 litres and RM500 less per 10,000 litres compared with the previous week's price. Recheck your fuel surcharge and return-leg margins against this week's rate before confirming new bookings.
