Malaysia’s unsubsidised diesel rises to RM4.92/L for 10–16 September 2026

Malaysia’s Ministry of Finance (MOF) has raised the unsubsidised diesel price by 25 sen per litre to RM4.92/L for 10–16 September 2026. The previous price was RM4.67/L.

What changed for diesel users

Eligible users under the Sistem Kawalan Diesel Bersubsidi (SKDS) continue to pay RM2.15/L. The RM4.92/L rate applies to unsubsidised diesel, so the immediate cost effect depends on a fleet’s eligibility and applicable programme conditions.

What to check before confirming rates

West Malaysian hauliers paying the unsubsidised rate should update the fuel basis used in current spot quotes, surcharges and return-leg costing. This is a practical pricing check, not a prediction of any freight-rate outcome.

Why MOF says prices moved

MOF cited higher crude prices, supply-flow risk through the Strait of Hormuz, tighter refining capacity and lower inventories during the pricing calculation period.
